Born in Medford, Massachusetts, BIA is of Puerto Rican and Italian descent. In her early years, she discovered her passion for rap music. She was driven by her attendance of studio sessions with seasoned artists and wanted nothing more than to become a rap sensation herself. However, before breaking into the music scene, BIA first attended college but found that it didn’t suit her. She dropped out and began tending bars to pay for her studio sessions. Her hard work and perseverance started to pay off when she moved to Los Angeles in 2017.

Rapper Fam-Lay eventually discovered BIA on YouTube. Continuously impressed by her work, Fam-Lay introduced her to Pharrell, catapulting her music career to higher heights. BIA started her career with the Oxygen reality TV show, Sisterhood Hip-Hop, featuring in the first two seasons. She got signed to RCA Records and I Am Other music label, leading to numerous collaborations with industry elites, including T.I., Jennifer Hudson, and Usher.

Her dedication and talent mark BIA’s journey to the rap limelight. In 2016, she went on tour with Ariana Grande and Pusha T, opening for the latter’s album “Darkest Before The Dawn.” She featured on J Balvin’s “Safari” and dropped her hit singles “Whip It” and “Gucci Comin’ Home,” paving the way for her Trap Vogue EP’s release. BIA’s versatility sets her apart in the industry and has led to collaborations with Kodak Black and Kali Uchis on “Nice Girls Finish Last: Cuidado” and “Miami,” respectively.

BIA’s Humble Beginnings to Chart-Topping Success

In 2019, BIA parted ways with RCA Records, citing the label as preventing her from reaching her full potential in the industry. Later that year, in October, BIA released her first independent song, “One Minute Warning,” collaborating with singer Russ. The song became a viral sensation and even caught the attention of pop star Rihanna, who shared it on her social media as her favorite song. “One Minute Warning” became BIA’s first entry on the charts and was certified Platinum by RIAA. The song also earned her a BET Hip Hop Award nomination for Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse.

In early 2023, BIA signed with Sony under Epic Records, positioning her for even greater success in her career. That September, she collaborated with Lil Durk on the song “Same Hands.” Her EP, “For Certain,” was released in December 2020, and she followed it up by releasing a music video for “Whole Lotta Money” in April 2021. She even created a remix of the song featuring Nicki Minaj, released in July of the same year. In September, BIA continued her streak of collaborations with her music “Bestio,” featuring G Herbo.

BIA’s continued to impress her audience as she diversified by launching her makeup line, “Beauty for Certain,” in 2022. She also collaborated successfully with J Cole, JT of City Girls,
