Avatar for Hibernation

Kai Bandz Teams up with Tru Carr for “Off White”

Fairfield’s Kai Bandz continues to drop music videos off of his latest LP, his newest single “Off White” featuring fellow Californian Tru Carr. A welcome addition to the Kai Bandz catalog, this trap banger is a groovy new track with excellent bars coming from both artists. Be sure to check it out!

Kai Bandz has been in the game for a minute, dropping SoundCloud exclusive joints as far back as six years ago. His debut track “Turnin up” cementing him as one to watch out for, bringing thousands of streams to his page. This year the prolific artist continues his streak of non-stop drops, releasing seven stand-alone singles as well as the LP “My Life a Movie Vol. 3”, the third iteration in his My Life a Movie Series. A talented and infectious rapper, “Off White” comes as the latest song off of that LP with an incredible sound right in line with the artist’s brand so far.

Brought out to the track for a hard second verse is Tru Carr, a humble and positive young artist out of Watts. Together these artists have a fantastic hip-hop record on their hands, with the stellar video sealing the deal that this new song is a heater on the rise.

Shooting Dice in the Hallways

Producedbyjit is on the instrumental for this one, with fantastic synthesizer one shots accenting a cool and reverb’d piano sample. Kai Bandz delivers his signature fast-paced flows, with bars that affirm his position as a powerhouse rapper in the golden state. The hook sees his voice take on a radio effect, with the catchy lines like  “this shirt bunk but its off white/ these shoes came from Italy they cost a wok pint”.  Tru Carrs verse continues this self-assured style, delivering in a husky and soft tone that makes his bars even more impactful. Humorous lines litter his part such as “$11,000 for some shoes I’m a dog”. Overall it’s a stylish and head-nodding track.

Spingen Productions assembled the visual element for this record, with an incredible music video dripping with swag. From the opening shots of a styrofoam cup spilling onto a basketball court, you know you’re in for a treat. The two rappers perform on the balcony of a high-rise building, on the court in question, and off the hood of a Mercedes-Benz. The shots are decorated with snappy editing and effects, sketch drawing of uzis and purple swirls that the scenes dissolve into and out of. Extremely sleek, the video is something you definitely should take a look at.

Catch Kai Bandz and Tru Carr on Instagram for their latest collaborations, and for sure peep the rest of Kai’s tape “My Life a Movie Vol.3” streaming on all platforms. “Off White” is available everywhere at this very moment.
